Full Title: I Love You (Soundwave x Reader x Brother!Starscream)

“Scrap!” I quietly cursed as I made yet another mistake when typing, causing the screen to blip at me, and Megatron cast me an amused glance.

My wings twitched in embarrassment, and I fixed the error, glancing apologetically towards our Lord. He merely smiled in response, and I let out a sigh of relief.

As I returned to my work, I felt someone’s gaze on me, and I looked up to see my best friend (and maybe something more…) Soundwave observing me from across the room.

His head snapped down to his screen as my optics met his mask, a huff of static presenting itself across the screen.

I giggled, then stopped abruptly as Starscream glared at me, protectiveness burning in his optics. He barked an order at the silent Decepticon, and Soundwave bowed his head, moving out of my view.

I glared back at my almost identical twin, “Really?” He allowed himself a triumphant grin, “Yes really,” he stepped closer, hands behind his back, “I will not have my sister be ogled at!”

“Ogled at!?”

By now, we had captured the attention of the entire bridge, everyone watching our sibling rivalry with interest.

I cocked my hip, wings flaring up in steadily building anger, “Oh so should I tell Megatron to remove himself from the bridge every time you OGLE at HIM!?”

Chuckles rose up from the gathering crowd of Vehicons below, and both Megatron and Starscream looked away from each other, a flustered expression appearing on my brother’s face.

“That isn’t the point.” He composed himself, and I huffed in frustration, “So what is the point!?” I advanced on Starscream again, “Is it that I’m not allowed to like someone, or even have fun?”

“Yes! I mean, no, I mean,” he struggled to find the right words, and my slender fingers curled into fists, “I’m fine with you having fun, and liking someone…just not that freak!”

Everyone seemed to hold their breath as my optics narrowed down to barely visible slits, energon pooling at the corners.

That word echoed through my processor...

‘freak.’

In a flash, my fist connected with his face, sending him tumbling to the ground. My heeled foot slammed down onto his chest plate, sparks flying as it ground into the metal.

My form trembled, “He is NOT a freak.” Energon was now flowing down my face plates, splattering onto Starscream’s figure.

“And you are NOT my brother.” My angry optics met his own, and I saw all the pain and sorrow that those six words had wrought upon him.

I raced from the room, away from the destruction I had brought upon our relationship.

-Starscream POV-
Her words made me want to extinguish my own spark. ‘You are NOT my brother.’ I clenched my jaw, wiping away the energon that threatened to overflow before anyone could see it.

“She doesn’t mean it you know.” My head whipped to the side to see Lord Megatron standing there, and he placed a consoling hand on my shoulder plate.

I scoffed at his attempts to convince me, “I just wanted to protect her. But instead I succeeded in driving away one of the people closest to my spark.”

My wings drooped lower than they ever had before, my spark sinking with them.

“She just needs to cool off. She will realize the errors of her ways.” Megatron said, servo now rubbing in soft circles on my shoulder in an effort to soothe me.

I tried to glare at him, but my optics were full of tears, “I don’t need your pity.”

The leader’s deep laugh rumbled through the bridge, “Oh little seeker,” his usually cruel facial features softened, “you mistake my emotions for that of pity,” He tipped my helm up with a sharp talon, forcing me to look at him, “I care about you Starscream, and it pains me to see you like this.”

My optics widened slightly, ‘But…he…!’ Megatron pulled me closer, wrapping his arms around me in a hug, “She will come around,” he reassured, “she loves you, and no matter what she says, you will always be her brother.”

-Your POV-
‘What have I done…’

My fingers dug deeper into the metal berth beneath me, energon pouring out of my optics, and cascading down my face plates, staining the metal an electric blue.

‘Why did I say that…’

I choked back a cry, squeezing my optics shut. Memories flew through my processor,

“Starscream, I’m scared…” “I know, I know, but you’re going to be ok, I will protect you.”

Another flash,

“Brother, they called me a freak.” “You are NOT a freak. You are beautiful, strong, lightning fast, and you will always be my little sister. Never forget that.”

Sobs wracked my frame, and I let them come, the energon running fast and hot down my face plates.

“I’m so sorry, brother.” My soft cries echoed through the room, going seemingly unheard.

Suddenly, a delicate hand caressed the side of my face, the slender digits wiping away the falling tears.

My optics snapped open to see that familiar mask staring back. “I’m so sorry.” He mimicked, brushing away another stream of energon.

“I would much rather hear you say it…” Soundwave ducked his head, digits freezing mid-stroke.

“I-I’m so sorry…” His voice was deep and rich, slightly muffled by the mask, but moved like liquid gold to my receptors.

“Why do you hide from me?”

He looked away, as if in shame. “M-My mask gives m-me freedom,” he turned back to me, “f-freedom to observe your beauty and g-grace w-without fear of embarrassment.”

My spark skipped a beat, and the tears fell once again, half in happiness, half in sorrow.

“P-Please don’t cry! It makes m-me so sad when you do…” They rained down harder, “But I don’t even know that! Because I have never seen your face, never seen any of your emotions! I don’t care about embarrassment anymore! I want to be able to look at your face, and see you look back at me…”

I choked a sob down, “I want…!”

His mask slid back…to reveal the most handsome face I had ever laid eyes on.

Deep purple optics gazed into mine, and my delicate servos began to explore his face, optics wide with wonder.

He continued to clean my face plates, gently rubbing away the stains, purple eyes avoiding mine.

Suddenly, the door to my room opened, and I retracted my hands as Soundwave’s mask snapped back into place just as Starscream cautiously stepped inside.

He froze when he saw Soundwave, but his optics softened as he observed the silent mech’s actions.

I stood, facing my twin, wondering who was going to say it first.

“I know you have every reason to hate me,” Starscream began, fiddling with his servos, “and you have every right to tell me to leave, but-“

I interrupted him, throwing myself into his arms. “I’m so sorry Starscream.”

He let out a shuddering breath, holding me close, one servo massaging my head like he used to do when I was a sparkling.

“You will always be my little sister.” I smiled happily into his shoulder plate at his words.

“Never forget that.”

“Frag it anyways!” I cried, throwing up my hands in frustration as yet another error popped up on my screen.

Starscream snickered, and I shot him a glare. I was about to punch the screen in anger, when two long arms wound their way around my waist, pulling my body against a familiar chest.

“Calm down love.” That wonderful, velvety voice whispered just loud enough for me to hear.

I sighed, slumping into him in defeat. “Try again.” I groaned as he urged me to recreate my attempt.

I leaned forward, placing my servos back onto the keyboard. Soundwave rested his helm on my shoulder, watching my every action and I began again, digits falling clumsily over each key.

Every now and then, he would stop me from making another error, gently moving my servo to the right key.

After a minute or so, I realized what we had been typing, over and over again…

‘I love you.’
I spent a lot of time on this one. It might be my favorite.
